Wataku Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Wataku Community

Wataku is more than a strategy game.

It is a place where players from around the world can learn, compete, experiment, teach, and enjoy strategic thinking together.

These Community Guidelines explain the standards of behavior expected from everyone using the Wataku platform.

They are intended to help create a welcoming, fair, and enjoyable environment for all players.

These Guidelines supplement the Wataku Terms of Service.

1. Our Community Values

Everything we do is built around five principles.

Respect

Treat every player with dignity and courtesy, regardless of:

  • skill level;
  • nationality;
  • language;
  • age;
  • experience;
  • playing style.

Healthy competition and respectful disagreement are welcome.

Personal attacks are not.

Fair Competition

Victory is meaningful only when it is earned fairly.

Every player deserves an equal opportunity to compete under the same rules.

Cheating harms every member of the community.

Learning

Every strong player was once a beginner.

Help others learn.

Celebrate improvement.

Encourage curiosity.

Respect honest mistakes.

Integrity

Play honestly.

Report problems honestly.

Communicate honestly.

Respect the spirit of the game as well as its written rules.

Community

Wataku grows because of its players.

Whether you report a bug, teach a newcomer, create educational content, or simply play respectfully, you help build the future of the game.

2. Expected Behavior

Players are encouraged to:

  • welcome new players;
  • answer questions respectfully;
  • congratulate opponents after good games;
  • report bugs responsibly;
  • use constructive language;
  • provide helpful feedback;
  • encourage fair play;
  • be patient with players who are learning.

3. Respectful Communication

Disagreement is normal.

Harassment is not.

Do not:

  • insult other players;
  • threaten others;
  • repeatedly target another player;
  • encourage harassment;
  • intimidate users;
  • publish offensive or degrading comments.

Criticize ideas—not people.

4. Hate Speech and Discrimination

Wataku does not tolerate content or behavior that promotes hatred or discrimination based on protected characteristics.

Examples include:

  • racial slurs;
  • discriminatory harassment;
  • promotion of violence toward protected groups;
  • dehumanizing language.

Violations may result in immediate moderation action.

5. Fair Play

Do not:

  • cheat;
  • manipulate ratings;
  • intentionally lose games for ranking purposes;
  • collude with other players;
  • exploit bugs;
  • manipulate tournaments;
  • use unauthorized automation;
  • interfere with matchmaking.

Winning through dishonest means is inconsistent with the purpose of Wataku.

6. Artificial Intelligence

Wataku includes AI-powered features intended to help players learn and improve.

When using AI features:

  • use them responsibly;
  • avoid attempts to abuse or intentionally break AI systems;
  • do not use AI features to harass others.

Future competitive events may include additional rules governing the use of external assistance.

7. Bugs and Exploits

If you discover a bug:

Please report it.

Do not repeatedly exploit software defects to gain an unfair advantage.

Responsible disclosure helps improve Wataku for everyone.

8. Usernames and Profiles

Choose usernames that are appropriate for a broad audience.

Usernames or profile content may not include:

  • hate speech;
  • threats;
  • impersonation;
  • explicit sexual content;
  • unlawful content;
  • offensive or abusive language intended to harass others.

Wataku may require inappropriate usernames or profile content to be changed.

9. Impersonation

Do not impersonate:

  • Wataku staff;
  • moderators;
  • developers;
  • other players;
  • public figures.

Parody should not mislead other users into believing it is official.

10. Privacy and Personal Information

Respect the privacy of others.

Do not publish another person’s private information without permission.

Examples include:

  • addresses;
  • phone numbers;
  • email addresses;
  • financial information;
  • passwords;
  • other sensitive personal information.

11. Spam

Do not use Wataku to distribute:

  • spam;
  • repetitive messages;
  • deceptive advertising;
  • malicious links;
  • scams.

Reasonable discussion of strategy, community projects, or educational content is generally acceptable when consistent with platform rules.

12. Security

Do not attempt to:

  • bypass security measures;
  • access accounts without authorization;
  • interfere with servers;
  • reverse engineer security systems;
  • distribute malware.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly.

13. Content Sharing

If Wataku allows players to create or share content, users remain responsible for the material they publish.

Only share content that:

  • you have the right to use;
  • complies with applicable law;
  • complies with these Guidelines.

14. Reporting Problems

If you encounter:

  • harassment;
  • cheating;
  • bugs;
  • inappropriate content;
  • suspicious activity;

please report it using the tools provided by Wataku.

Good-faith reports help keep the community healthy.

Please avoid knowingly false or malicious reports.

15. Enforcement

To protect the community, Wataku may take actions including:

  • educational reminders;
  • warnings;
  • removal of content;
  • temporary feature restrictions;
  • temporary suspensions;
  • permanent account termination.

The action taken depends on the severity, frequency, and circumstances of the conduct.

Where appropriate, Wataku may consider the user’s history and willingness to correct the behavior.

16. Appeals

If you believe moderation action was taken in error, you may contact Wataku Support to request a review.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the original decision will be changed.

Appeals are reviewed individually.

17. Continuous Improvement

Wataku will continue to improve these Guidelines as the community grows.

New features such as:

  • clubs;
  • tournaments;
  • spectators;
  • chat;
  • user-generated content;
  • coaching;
  • live events;

may require additional community standards.

Material updates will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date.

18. Our Commitment

Wataku is committed to building a community where:

  • strategy matters more than hostility;
  • learning matters more than ego;
  • fair play matters more than winning at any cost;
  • creativity matters more than imitation;
  • every player has the opportunity to improve.

We believe that the strongest communities are built not only by good rules, but by players who choose to treat one another with respect.
